The end-times are near.  According to the prophecies, there are many churches but their effect on the world is not the one that mankind needs.  People searches for peace and tranquility but with the satisfaction of desire of the flesh and eyes; they delight themselves in vain glories, while the bible says: “And the world passeth away and the lust thereof, but he that doeth the will of God abideth forever.” (1 Jn 2:17).  It’s prophesied that when the Lord comes, faith will scarce and the love that surge out of the resurrection, grew cold; and the increasing growth of science only brings poverty, violence, and corruption.  God calls many but only few are remain, they are the remnant.  God does not seek quantity, but quality.  Thank you Lord, because the remnant experiences change, and have love and faith, not just among brothers and sisters, but for all who are in the world, where we once were deceived by the principle of this world that kills, steals, and destroys.  That is why we suffer droughts, floods, and the disappearance or contaminated rivers; the results of scientific means that only produces death where life exist.

God’s church must reflect on the past, to know what to do, because the function of the church is to seek all those who are lost and confuse just like we were once, trying to strive for fortune so others can serve us.  Thank you Lord because we know, through the bible: “Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God”(Mat 4:4).  This is how the Lord Jesus responded to Satan, when Satan tempted him after his forty day fast. “Jesus said unto them, “My meat is to do the will of Him that sent Me, and to finish His work.”(Jn 4:34).  For Jesus, saving lives was his food, to finish his work.  In order for us to abstain from foods, drinks, and clothing, one must keep in mind the biblical passage, Matthew (6: 32-33), which says, “(For after all these things do the Gentiles seek.) For your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. But seek ye first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you.”  God’s true church was called to be “made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness” (Rm 6:18).

The psalmist tells us we’re blessed, if we keep His commandment and peace is added if we abide to His law, to which all obstacles are removed.  The law is resumed in Romans 13:8: “Owe no man anything, but to love one another, for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law.”  Jesus teaches us to abstain to oneself, just as he told his disciples, “My meat is to do the will of Him that sent Me, and to finish His work.”(Jn 4:34).   Now it’s our turn to, with faith, feed the hungry and drink to the thirsty.

Brothers and sister, in addition to God’s word, we need spirit of Christ, to be wise and intelligent, in order to do work.  Solomon tells us, “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and instruction” (Prv 1:7); and the knowledge of the almighty is intelligence.

Careful with the world’s deception because it will destroy your wisdom. Like the Paul says, “I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent… Hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world?” (1 Cor. 1:19-20).  God, help us not to seek what the world offers.  Let’s live with the wisdom that God has given us to do His will and await for his return. Amen.
